Renewal

Issue 1: to renew the Boston Heights Village Fire Levy at 1.75 mill for 5 years.
3 August 2004: PASSED: 76% yes, 24% no. See the election returns.

This issue would renew, for another five years, the Village's existing levy for the Fire Department.
The county estimates the tax increase would bring in $90,394 per year (on the $66M property valuation in the village).
It will cost $350 per year in property taxes for a $200,000 home -- same as the current levy.

The Fire Levy was last renewed at the November 1999 election, by a 61% to 39% margin.


    Nordonia Hills City Schools The northern part of Boston Heights is in the Nordonia Hills City School District.

3 August 2004: PASSED: 50+% yes, 50-% no. See the election returns.
Note: With only a 22-vote margin, the final outcome of this election is subject to the counting of absentee and provisional ballots, by 23 August, and an automatic recount.

This levy is for operation of the Nordonia schools, and is in additional to all current levies.
Note: Previous emergency levies failed at the March 2004 and November 2003 elections.

The levy would raise $5,595,593 each year.
It will cost approximately $398 per year more in property taxes for a $200,000 home.
