BOSTON HTS., OH- Mary A. Gilbert (née Smith), age 85, of Kent, Ohio formerly of Boston Hts., Ohio died August 31, 2006 at Summa Health Akron City Hospital.
Mary enjoyed her great-grand-children and playing bingo at Heather Knoll. Mary had worked as a cafeteria worker at Jack and Heinz in Maple Hts. and also helped with the family greenhouse in Boston Heights. She also worked at Crystaloid in Hudson and did home care for many children in the area. For many years she was Sunday School Secretary of the Boston Heights Friends Church.
Beloved wife of the late Clarence G.; beloved mother of Connie (Ted) Stone of Kent, Ohio and Lois (Bob) Lowe of Bedford, Ohio and an infant son (deceased); loving grandmother of Sandi Buckey, Ted Stone, Alison (Matt) Davis and Great Grandmother of Jack and Luke Buckey and Jensen Stone; dear sister of Margaret Shellhammer of Calif., sister-in-law of Mary Bell Shepherd and loving aunt of many.
Thank you to the staff of Heather Knoll and their extra loving care and exploiting mother's sense of Humor. A special thanks to the ER staff and 5 West Staff at Summa City Hospital. Your tenderness and caring helped make her last day comfortable.
Services were held at 11AM Thursday, September 7, 2006 at Johnson-Romito Funeral Home, 19 East Main Street (On the Square) Hudson, Ohio 330-650-4181 where friends were received Wednesday 6 to 8PM. Burial at Fairview Cemetery Boston Hts., Ohio.
