David R. Leonard of Boston Heights, age 53, an ever-loving soul, whose only concern in life was the concerns of others, has left us, completing his journey on Earth to begin his eternal journey with our Lord, on Thursday, September 15, 2011.
He was born August 20, 1958 in Greensburg, Pa., to Ann K. Leonard and G. Russell Leonard (deceased). He was the second child of seven to bless their lives. David was a warm hearted man that loved children and found great joy in his many nieces and nephews. He also had a warm place in his heart for animals. He loved his cats as if they were his children.
David graduated from Hudson High School in 1976 and received his Bachelor's Degree at John Carroll University. He was a small business owner who took pride in a job well done.
David is survived by his mother, Ann; his brothers, Father Edwin Leonard, Jerome (Melissa) Leonard, Sean (Karen) Leonard, Charles Leonard; and one sister, Mary (John) McGill; brother-in-law, John Cunniff; and his very wonderful friend, Cindy Rheling, who took care of him. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, George Russell Leonard in 2008 and his sister, Ann Cunniff, June 2011.
Family received friends from 2-5pm Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd., Fairlawn. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Monday at St. Sebastian Catholic Church followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations made to the American Diabetes Association and the Humane Society.
