Antoinette "Toni" Shalashnow (nee Jakulin), 77, of Wolcott Drive in Boston Heights, Ohio, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at Hospice Care Center in Akron, Ohio.
Toni was the beloved wife of Michael (deceased); daughter of the late Frank and Frances Jakulin (both deceased); aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Toni was a wonderful neighbor. She had a thoughtful, giving spirit, a heart of gold. Nurturing was part and parcel of her being, everything from cookies and cupcakes for the children on the street, to taking care of pets, mail, and home checks while neighbors were away, making soup for the ailing, supper for the weary, and consolation wherever and whenever needed. Her goodwill efforts were enjoyed by people beyond the neighborhood; where she shopped or banked. Even strangers enjoyed her generosity.
Funeral services held on Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, at Johnson-Romito Funeral Home, Northfield Center, Ohio; friends received Friday from 9AM until service time. Interment at Bedford Cemetery.
